General formulation of Coulomb explosion dynamics of highly symmetric charge distributions

Abstract We present a theoretical approach to study the dynamics of spherical, cylindrical and ellipsoidal charge distributions under their self-Coulomb field stochastic force due collisions random motions charged particles. The is based on finding current density distribution from charge-current continuity equation determining drift velocities latter can be used either derive Lagrangian system, or write Newton’s motion with Lorentz force. develop kinetic theory include electrons in our model. To demonstrate efficacy method, we apply it various compare results N -body simulations. show that method reproduces well-known emittance term envelope uniform spherical correct coefficients. use model for gravitational collapse an ideal gas as well cyclotron magnetic propose measure electron beams.
